This simplified version showcases the end user's journey from accessing the site via desktop or mobile, through the CDN solution, and into EDS content or Adobe Commerce, featuring the Hyvä theme and the EDS integration module developed by netz98 valantic.
Key components include:
- CDN Solution (e.g., Fastly): Routes content based on traffic rules and ensures fast delivery.
- Shared Content: Header and footer managed in AEM are consistently displayed across EDS and Adobe Commerce pages.
- Integration Module: Loads content from the Adobe CDN to embed within the Hyvä frontend, or vice versa, ensuring full control over data loading.
This approach to document-based publishing highlights the efficiency and effectiveness of integrating AEM with Adobe Commerce, resulting in a fast and cohesive user experience.

- Shared TailwindCSS Styles: Both EDS pages and Adobe Commerce pages use shared TailwindCSS-based styles, maintaining a consistent visitor experience and speeding up development time. This industry-standard approach allows for quick onboarding of developers.
- Main Menu and Footer: The main menu and footer links are managed in AEM and displayed consistently across both EDS and Adobe Commerce pages. This ensures a unified look and feel, no matter the platform.
- Mini Cart Functionality: The mini cart on EDS pages uses the same data from the browser local storage as Hyvä, ensuring a consistent and fast user experience without extra API calls. This approach can also be extended to other customer session-specific UI components.
- Embedding AEM Content: EDS content can be embedded on Adobe Commerce pages using PHP view models or CMS widgets. This allows for additional product descriptions or other content managed in AEM to seamlessly integrate into commerce pages.
- Rendering Products on EDS Pages: Product carousels from Hyvä can be embedded as EDS blocks, utilising Alpine.js to ensure functionality without needing to re-implement components with vanilla JavaScript.
